XXSaint John Paul II {Pope}

Oct. 22 – Feast of St. John Paul II
The Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, D.C., is hosting a week of celebrations leading up to the feast of St. John Paul on Oct. 22. The festivities begin Oct. 16, the anniversary of Karol Wojtyla’s election to the papacy in 1978, with Mass, a reception and a conversation about the election’s worldwide impact. Free registration is available here. 
The annual St. John Paul II Pilgrimage will take place Oct. 19. Pilgrims are invited to join a 7.5-mile spiritual walk that culminates with Mass at the shrine. For more information and to buy tickets, visit here. On Oct. 22, the Shrine will provide refreshments after both Masses in celebration of the feast day and host “Evenings with the Merciful Jesus” led by the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy; more information here.

Date: Sun, Aug 11, 2024 at 4:12 PM Subject: Council 6010 Layton Fall Blood Drive The Knights of Council 6010 St. Rose of Lima (Layton) will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, October 22nd at the church (210 S. Chapel St) - the times will be 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. We are partnering with the American Red Cross to do our little part in contributing to the critical need for blood right now. We currently have 36 parishioners signed up, but of course we would like to get more. Will you please put it on the state calendar, with an announcement now, and possibly another as it gets a little closer? Additionally, is Andy still our liaison for articles to the Intermountain Catholic? I wasn't sure since I know he's left the state. Many thanks in advance - let me know if you need anything else. Did you ever think of volunteering for a role of a Chairman or Officer? Do you understand the Council Officer roles and responsibilities?  Each year your council elects and appoints new men to take on leadership roles within your council. Sometimes these roles are well-defined while other times the role may be expanded based on that individuals’ talents or interests. I am coming to Utah on October 26, at Holy Family Hall, St Vincent de Paul Parish in Holladay from 1130 to 1500, to offer an approach that may be helpful for councils in appointing officers or for looking to expand the responsibilities of their existing officers. You need to make your job easier as a leader, by spreading out the work, defining roles and responsibilities, searching for skills and abilities of your membership, and have a leader succession plan for the future of your Council. This is open to every Knight, but we especially want State Officers, District Deputies, Grand Knights, Deputy Grand Knights, Financial Secretaries, and Chancellor to attend. We want to change ‘THE WAY WE HAVEALWAYS DONE IT” by exploring Member Management, navigation of the Supreme website, and resources available to you at the District and State level. Luncheon will be served at 11:30 so we can start once everyone is served. Venmo and cash donations will be accepted for the lunch.  Please plan on attending this session. It is important for us to ensure success of the Knights this year and in the future. Please let your District Deputy know how many are attending from your Council by October 19 so we can prepare materials and lunch.
