XXGive Me a Chance
09-06-2025   All Day Event

Brothers,
I wish to bring to your attention the upcoming annual fundraiser for Give Me a Chance, a local charity in Ogden dedicated to serving women and children in need. This event will take place on Saturday, September 6th, and it represents their most important fundraising effort of the year. Additional details may be found at http://www.givemeachanceutah.org.
As a council, we have consistently demonstrated our support for Give Me a Chance by presenting gifts to them at the Knight’s yearly Christmas and Religious Appreciation Dinner. Their mission closely aligns with our own principles of faith, charity, and service, and I believe it is fitting that we continue this tradition of support.
I respectfully ask for your assistance in two areas:
  1. Setup and Take Down – Help will be needed prior to and after the dinner. Please contact Carlos Aguilar at ‭(801) 564-9098‬ or CLAGUILAR55@gmail.com if you can help with setup, takedown, or both.
  2. Presence and Support – If your schedule and budget permits, please consider attending the fundraiser in person. Your presence will be a visible sign of the Knights’ ongoing commitment to this worthy cause. Details can be found here: http://www.givemeachanceutah.org/dinner/

Thank you for your continued generosity of time and spirit. Together, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of those most in need.
Vivat Jesus!
George

XX Back-to-School Breakfast
09-07-2025   9:00 am - 11:00 am

Brother Knights,
The Director of Religious Education has asked if the Knights could host a Back-to-School Breakfast for the parish on Sunday, September 7th, after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. The estimated attendance will be about 80 and will be served in the gym.
On behalf of our council, I accepted the request. This will be a great opportunity for us to serve our parish, build community, and show our presence and commitment.
To make this a success, we’ll need help in the kitchen and gym preparing and serving the meal. Please consider lending a hand that morning.
We will also review and finalize the breakfast menu during our Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 2nd.
I’m open to all suggestions, and my initial thoughts are this:

Scrambled eggs
Sheet pancakes  - we’ve dialed in the recipe.
Biscuits and Gravy: I have a great recipe for the biscuits - make them several times a year and it’s simple once the dough is prepared.
Sausage links?
Fixings and drinks

Thank you in advance to support this effort. With everyone’s help, I know we can make this a wonderful parish event.
Vivat Jesus!
George

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR PEACE
September 11th
God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world: peace in the hearts of all men and women and peace among the nations of the earth.  Turn to your way of love those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred, and who justify killing in the name of religion.
God of understanding, overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy, we seek your light and guidance as we confront such terrible events.  Grant that those whose lives were spared may live so that the lives lost may not have been lost in vain.  Comfort and console us, strengthen us in hope, and give us the wisdom and courage to work tirelessly for a world where true peace and love reign among nations and in the hearts of all.
 -Pope Francis
 Prayer Service at Ground Zero
 September 25, 2015
