A Higher Purpose
Bring families into a more robust practice and better understanding of our Catholic faith and the Triduum. In an effort to increase parish attendance and involvement, councils conduct a promotional campaign to educate their parishes on the vital importance of Good Friday.
Overview
Despite Good Friday’s central role in the heart of Christianity, attendance at services remains low. In an effort to change this, councils will encourage participation in Good Friday services through a promotional campaign. Setting an example for their community, Knights will attend Good Friday services with their families and work with their pastors to encourage increased parishioner involvement at these liturgies. In conjunction with these efforts, councils will also work to educate their parishes about the plight of Christians in the Holy Land.

I just followed up with the office about the passion on Good Friday. It sounds like we will be doing it this year. We don't have the exact time frame but It will begin at St. Therese on Good Friday (Around 10am) and the stations will be placed in the Avenues of Midvale and it ends at St. Therese.
All the acting is in Spanish and few stations are read in English. Our Council assists with the set up and take down. We set out all the crosses then pick them up. The person in charge of this event will contact me soon with more information. I didn't want to mislead you that our council puts this on. We play a very small role with this by helping them out. It is a very beautiful live version of the Passion. As soon as I get the time frame I will let you know.
God Bless,
CharlieGK 13646

What are the Knights of Columbus?

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. Imagine being part of an organization that fills your heart and your mind with the joy of giving to others and the feeling that comes with making a difference. Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life. Please contact us for more information about becoming a Knight!
